Pink Day in LA!

It’s time to save the date! Make a note on your calander, in your diary, set your phone reminders, put a note of the fridge, pin a note to your cat…actually don’t do that last one that would be bad! The point is Pink Day in LA is returning once again and this year it will be on October 20th, 2012 along side the Extra Life charity event.

Pink Day in LA (which stands for Lion’s Arch and not Los Angeles!) is an online fundraising charity event hosted by Gamers Giving Back to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and donations for the Canadian Cancer Society. It has always taken place within the game of Guild Wars but this year it will primarily be hosted in Guild Wars 2! There will still be activities in Guild Wars (1) and various other ways to participate so you have no excuse!

If you would like to volunteer to help with this event you are more then welcome to! We will be having a volunteer meeting on September 22nd, 2012 at 1PM Central on the GW-EN ventrilo server (please use the contact form to request server details). There are many ways you can get involved, primarily we could always use an extra hand planing and hosting the in-game actives. That isn’t the only thing though, some people donate or hand-craft prizes to be given away on the day and just spreading the word about the event is a massive help! The world is your oyster so if you have any ideas or talents you’d like to contribute please get in touch using the contact form and lets us know!!

More information about the event and the launch of the Pink Day in LA website will be disclosed at a later date on the Gamers Giving Back website but the fundraising page is already up and running if you’d like to check it out! So one last time …October 20th, 2012!! Time to get excited and plan your magnificently pink in-game outfits!
