Kayla Nichols is a singer/songwriter from Oklahoma with a southern style that is mixed with folk and indie. She is inspired and influenced by artists such as Bon Iver, Angus & Julia Stone, Mumford & Sons, Iron & Wine and many more. Kayla sings from the heart about the things most important to her. As a person of faith she is strongly influenced by her beliefs.
After getting involved with “worship missions” at school Kayla ended up visiting India for two months. At an orphanage in India called “Agape International” she saw first hand the impact HIV and poverty has on the children living there. Despite their situation Kayla said the children still seemed to be happy. This led her to reflect on her own life and eventually turn to her music with a new inspiration.
All of the money she makes from her music goes towards helping the “physically and spiritually impoverished”. If you are intrigued by Kayla’s story please find out more by visiting www.kaylanichols.com. You can also find her on twitter and Facebook.
